Remote Education Offer
The following statement confirms our approach to online and remote learning when our training centres are put into
national lockdown measures or where learners are obliged to stay away from our training centres following a positive
Covid -19 test or self-isolating as a result of being a close contact. This statement relates to 16-19 study programme.
IT Support for Learners
We strive to support learners who do not have access to suitable IT facilities to work remotely from home. Where learners
do not have access to a suitable digital device or Wi-Fi, they may request this support through their learning mentor.
Delivery for Remote Learning
The delivery model will be individualised to each learner and will involve a mixture of blended learning activities whilst maintaining a Covid safe environment, to ensure they get the best learning experience.
Learners who are required to work remotely will have access to BKSB online resources, E-kits, and Google classroom. Workbooks and other documents will be placed in the appropriate channel for learners to access.
Subjects offering a tutorial model will do 1-1 and small group meetings.
Expectations of Learners and Tutors
Sessions will be time tabled and learners will be expected to engage effectively, arrive promptly, participate in lessons regardless of the delivery model and complete all classwork and homework as normal. If a learner is too ill to study, then they must report this to a member of staff.
Assessments and feedback will be submitted by tutors and provided electronically in all subjects. This will vary from course to course and be dependent on the nature of the submission. It will be either through the “Assignment” function of Google classroom, or via email.
Students who receive Additional Learning Support are able to stay in contact with their tutor who will continue to provide support. Students with disabilities or learning needs who need to be in college to study effectively will be able to do so.
